Riding Pegs for CTX-1300
These are the original pictures I started working with from the internet
What to buy: Our frame diameter is 1.5" on our bikes
Kuryakyn - 1-1/2" Clamp: Part # 1001
Kuryakyn - Longhorn Offset Pegs: Part # 7996 7996 file
Kuryakan - Mini Pilot Pegs: Part # 4430 4430 file
Two 1/2" x 5" bolts (13 TPI) - Home Depot ~ $3 ea
Make: Two 1/2" x 3-1/4" Sch. 80, Carbon Steel Pipe. The faces / ends need to be square
When installing these pegs a 3/4" combination wrench is required. A 30 degree offset would be nice but I had a regular combination wrench. Installing the left side camp is pretty straight forward, I moved the clamp as far forward as possible, this way it assembly does not interfere with the shifter The peg needs to about the same angle as the pipes as there is a mechanical advantage of the offset riding pegs that needs to be "zeroed out"
On the right side, the frame clamp should be forced on. The brake line will move enough to allow this. If you disassemble the manual brake linkage it's a pain to re-install! On the last right side picture you will see I set the pegs at 14" (centerline) from the floor with the bike on the center-stand. Got any questions? email me @ va6gc@outlook.com
